Char Dham Yatra 2021: The Uttarakhand government has decided to suspend the Char Dham Yatra this year in view of worsening Covid-19 situation.

The Uttarakhand government had earlier given its green signal to hold the annual Char Dham Yatra from May 14 with all COVID guidelines in place.

A massive glacier breach in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district caused flash floods in the Dhauli Ganga river, causing large-scale devastation in the upper reaches of the ecological fragile Himalayas.

As per reports, a part of the Nanda Devi glacier broke off at Joshimath in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli leading to wide-spread devastation. Rescue operations continue.
