
Coronavirus has brought the nation to a standstill and daily routines have taken drastic steps to try to curb the coronavirus pandemic. In these tough times when most of us during this time are sitting in lap of comfort and having three meals a day but on the other end the most affected people during this pandemic is the migrants who are walking on foot to reach their respect homes.
A While we saw heart breaking glimpse of thousands of migrants leaving their cities and trying to return to their villages. These hard-working labourers and daily wager are the backbone of city economies but they were scared that they would go hungry in this troubled time.

I was really moved by one such story of Kanta Prasad, an owner of tiny food stall, Baba Ka Dhaba and become favourite overnight amongst customers, bloggers, journalists post a video went viral on social media. In the video, we set to get to see a grieving concern about the days when he had no customers. The 80-year-old couple, wakes up daily at 5 am to make food for his roadside food stall, which is located in Malviya Nagar, New Delhi. Ever since the lockdown, like everyone else, his business has got impacted badly which led to few people stepping out of the house to have food at eatery outlet. There was a time where he used to earn serval hundred rupees a day to less than Rs.50 a day.
But all of a sudden, a video of his video went viral in which was very emotional and was crying about tough times that he was facing to Swad official, which is run by food blogger Gaurav Wasan, after which a clip from it was shared on Twitter by @VasundharaTankh. Like any other, he started preparing food early in the mooring but wasn’t aware what the day had in stored for him, as customers started queuing up.
Some had come all the way from Rohini and Gurgaon to support and buy food from ‘woh Twitter wale baba’. While interacting with the media, Baba Ka Dhaba owner was quoted saying “I wanted to do my part. I was surprised to see a long queue and dozens of people ordering. Some even offered to help him as he was hassled by the crowd. Log gaadiyan le kar aa rahe thay aur 5-6 plate le jaa rahe thay.”
Baba Ka Dhaba owner, Kanta Prasad, has filed a police complaint against YouTuber Gaurav Wasan who first shot the video of the elderly couple selling food in Delhi. The owner has alleged that Wasan was misappropriating funds raised to help his wife and him. While interacting, Prasad was was quoted saying YouTuber Gaurav Wasan “intentionally and deliberately shared only his and his family/friends bank details and mobile numbers with the donors and collected huge amount of donation through different mode of payments i.e bank account/wallets without providing any information to the complainant.”
The fact was confirmed by the police that they have received a complaint about the same. Atul Kumar Thakur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) was quoted saying “We received the complaint yesterday at the Malviya Nagar Police Station and the matter is being probed. No FIR has been registered yet in the case.”
