Memphis Depay is hails from Dordrecht, Netherlands. He has born and brought up in tough circumstances and turned out to be an extraordinary talent. At a very age his parents separated and his mother was the sole bread winner of the family. Memphis enjoyed playing football and decided to join a youth club. He started his youth career are the young age of 6 year at vv Moordrecht. During his youth career was known for been the last one to leave the field. He admired and wanted to be the next Arjen Robben or Cristiano Ronaldo.

He used the pain as an inspirational and started taking football career seriously, At 16, he was called up to play for his country at under-17 level and was also part of Holland’s 2011 European U17 championship winning team. Depay was secret weapon in the arsenals for manager Louis Van Gaal’s ‘Oranje.’ He is known for his pace, energy and trickery won him growing acclaim.

He had to build his career from scratch in France with Lyon and turned his fortune around and has been a blessing in disguise. He went to play 147 matches from the French club and scored 50 goals.

Koeman has been hired to bring back to the glories days of Camp Nou and feel that his countryman holds the key for the clubs revival. United though have a buy-back clause but they are unlikely to activate it their interest as they are currently in talks to sign a deal for Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.

Depay had confirmed that Barcelona have shown interest in him and was quoted saying “We just have to see what will happen. I’ll report to [Lyon] tomorrow and we’ll see what happens. I haven’t heard much more from my agent. I know that there is interest, but I don’t have much more to say because I don’t know much about it.”.

The 26-year-old’s contract with Lyon runs till 2021 and he may leave for £27m. if all things fall in place his fee will be cut down to £20m as Barca may offer their 21-year-old fullback Emerson as part of the deal.
