DEPARTURE REPORT: Rumours have been swirling for weeks about Kairi Sane’s future in WWE, but it now seems as though there has been true.


Kairi Hojo is a Japanese profession wrestler who became household name post signing developmental deal with NXT and was rechristened As Kairi Sane. She started her wrestling career way back in January of 2012 under World Wonder Ring Stardom promotion. She was with promotion for the next five years and also during this time also became she became a one-time World of Stardom Champion. Fans for a long time always wondered why did Kairi Sane dresses like a pirate, it’s because of her love for yachting. 

Dave Meltzer while interacting with Wrestling Observer Newsletter was quoted saying that “Japanese workers Io Shirai and Mayu Iwatani the three of the best wrestlers in the world”. 


She joined wwe in 2017 and announced her participation in the inaugural Mae Young Classic. The Pirate Princess stole the show by giving tough competition to 31 other global sensations and went on to win by defeating former UFC fighter Shayna Baszler in the Finale. History will once again be repeated itself a year later Sane defeated Baszler to win the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn IV.

Post which was drafted to SmackDown LIVE in 2019 and went on to form The Kabuki Warriors with Asuka. Sane and Asuka went on to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles from Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross at WWE Hell in a Cell 2019.


The fans witnessed the final appearance of Kairi Sane on WWE RAW. The Pirate Princess is leaving the company on good terms and one of the reason being not to risk disabling injuries and will thus return to Japan to her husband. Though her in ring career has come to an end but will still be affiliated with the company.

For a long time there has been speculation Kairi Sane will be leaving WWE and heading back to Japan following a series of roadblocks in her career. On the latest edition of Monday night RAW, Kairi Sane. On the latest edition of Monday night RAW, Kairi Sane went one on one with SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley in a non-title match. 


The champ thought everything is in control but Asuka’s tag team partner Kairi Sane showed her class and giving befitting fight to the champion. In their one-on-one competition she went for the Bayley-to-Belly Suplex, Sane wriggled free and went on to have a win the match.


On the future plans Sane plans ton wrestling for another year before retiring from the professional wrestling.
