Sushant Singh Rajput’s death on Sunday has once again sparked fresh discussions about mental health.

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden and untimely demise had spread shockwave among the nation. He was found at his dead at his sixth-floor apartment in Bandra (West). Further information came that the talented actor had committed suicide and this has come days after his former manager Disha Salian reportedly died by suicide. Mumbai Police, DCP Pranay Ashok was quoted saying that “Sushant Singh Rajput has committed suicide and no note was found at his house.”

His last movie “Chhichhore”, dealt with suicide and how it is not a solution to a problem. The movie had a very iconic dialogue “Tumhara result decide nahi karta hai ki tum loser ho ki nahi, tumhari koshish decide karti hai.” It is difficult to digest the fact that the same actor in his last movie raised awareness about mental health awareness and talk about not ending one’s life but looking for solutions or alternatives when something does not work out in your life.

Sushant Singh became a household name with his popular television show Pavitra Rishta. We request his fans to keep him in their thoughts and celebrate his life, and his work like they have done so far. We request media to help us maintain privacy at this moment of grief.”
