Amid the growing outrage over the shocking death of a pregnant elephant in Kerala, have launched a ‘manhunt’ to arrest those responsible.

Imagine the world without flora and fauna. It is difficult to imagine a world where we can’t hear the sound the wind blowing through the tall grass.  But in today scenario it seems that a world once full of life now lays empty due to extinction. People around the globe have failed to understand the importance of wildlife conservation. No one are aware of the what steps need to be taken to preserve wildlife? These are importance questions that we as inhabitant of this earth need to ask our self in order to help maintain the delicate ecosystem on Earth. Wildlife plays a crucial role in this delicate ecosystem and without wildlife the human race would not survive.

The whole nation is heartbroken post hearing about the horrific incident of animal abuse. As per sources a local offered pineapple filled with crackers to the elephant. The said incident occurred yesterday when a pregnant elephant passed away in Kerala post having a pineapple filled with crackers. The incident has enraged citizens of the nation from all walks of life and they took to social media to condemn this brutality and asking for strict action against the culprit.

Post nationwide outrage, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan promising strict action against the people responsible for such as a heinous act and was quote saying “the forest department is probing the case and the culprits won’t be spared”. Kerala’s Chief Wildlife Warden Surendra Kumar revealed that it was an “intentional act to kill the elephant and We have registered the case against unknown offenders and very soon you will hear of the arrests”. Farmers regularly keep pineapples and other fruits stuffed with firecrackers to kill wild boars that ravage the crops. It is punishable act under the Wildlife Protection Act, capturing, trapping, poisoning or baiting of any wild animal or even attempting to do can be charged with ₹25,000 or a jail term of up to seven years, or both.

the Chief Wildlife Warden also informed that a high-level team is probing the incident and arrests will soon follow.  The forest officer took to social media to release the information and informing about last moment of the elephant and said that “ the elephant, with her insides ripped, tongue and mouth injured, had wandered around for days before walking into the Velliyar river in Palakkad district, where she died in a standing position.”              

Also revealed “I hope people will be more sensitive — after all, most consider human beings superior. When the pineapple or some other fruit she ate exploded, she would have been shocked/worried not about herself, it must’ve been about the child she was going to give birth to in 18 to 20 months.”

Mr Krishnan was one of the member of Rapid Response Team formed to rescue the elephant and it was his post which brought incident into public eyes.

Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar has asked for a detailed report from the state government in the issue. Prakash Javadekar released a statement “Environment Ministry has taken a serious note of the death of an elephant in Kerala. Has sought complete report on the incident. Stern action will be taken against the culprit(s).”

BJP Member Of Parliament and animal rights activist Maneka Gandhi  also was shocked about heinous incident and quoted saying “It’s murder, Malappuram is famous for such incidents, it’s India’s most violent district, for instance, they throw poison on roads so that 300-400 birds and dogs die at one time.”
