For the first time in nearly two months, the growth rate of infections in Maharashtra has slowed to fall below that of the country as a whole.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country with 72,300 cases, followed by Tamil Nadu at 24,586 and Delhi at 22,132.

But as on 1st June seven-day compounded daily growth rate reported was 4.15 per cent and on the other hand the nation as a whole was 4.74 per cent. The cases are doubling by the time. Maharashtra is 17.35 days, comfortably longer than 15.18 days for India.
