For the first time in nearly two months, the growth rate of infections in Maharashtra has slowed to fall below that of the country as a whole.

Coronavirus is the biggest threats to the global economy and financial markets. The virus – Covid-19 was first detected in china, Wuhan in December last year and gone on to effect 209 countries and territories around the world. India has reported 2,07,910 cases of COVID-19, out of which 1,00,285 patients who have been treated successfully as well as discharged too and 5,829 have died. Maharashtra has over one-fifth of these cases at 1,364, and 125 deaths. Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country with 72,300 cases, followed by Tamil Nadu at 24,586 and Delhi at 22,132.

As per latest update when the Covid cases drastically across the nation, there has been a silver lining has emerged. Great news has forward in the past two months, the growth rate of infections in Maharashtra has slowed down for the first time. The seven-day compounded daily growth rate (CDGR) reported that Maharashtra has remained below the national average for three consecutive days till date. The rate in Maharashtra has been decline in the past two weeks now.

Maharashtra has reported for 35% of the total cases in the country from May 26 to 31, down sharply from 43% in the previous six days and 41% in the six-day period. But as on 1st June seven-day compounded daily growth rate reported was 4.15 per cent and on the other hand the nation as a whole was 4.74 per cent. The cases are doubling by the time. Maharashtra is 17.35 days, comfortably longer than 15.18 days for India.

The seven-day compounded daily growth rate (CDGR) reported that Maharashtra has remained below the national average for three consecutive days till date. The rate in Maharashtra has been decline in the past two weeks now.

As of now the number of new cases each day remains within a small range for about a week or so. A major surge in cases has happened in states such as Haryana, Assam, Bihar, Odisha, apart from smaller states like Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Tripura.
