While interacting with the media United Kingdom Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden informed that the Premier League clubs could soon receive approval to resume contact training. He was quoted saying that “I hope, subject to the sign-off by Public Health England and others, we will then later this week, very shortly, get the guidance about how we can have training in a contact environment. This is for elite sports so that they can start to build up.”

Premier League has been suspended ever since March due to the coronavirus outbreak. The shareholders in England’s football competition, Premier League, recently met and voted unanimously to return to small-group training starting from May 19. Premier League clubs could soon receive approval to resume contact training.

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire is happy to return to training session and the club’s facilities in Carrington and really enjoying it. Numerous clubs have started training in small groups as part of the Premier League’s ‘Project Restart’, which is planning to resume to play in June. Maguire was quoted saying “It’s been a strange few month, but it has been a protocol which the club has followed. It seems such a safe environment. It’s our first day back today, but it seems so safe and everyone is respecting it so well, so long may that continue and I’m sure no one will have any problems.”
