
We are celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day today on 22nd April every year. This year is very different as the whole globe is fighting an unprecedented coronavirus pandemic. The coronavirus is known as COVID-19 is affecting 210 countries around the world. The total amount of Coronavirus Cases has been 2,557,994, from which 177,688 have died. While 695,355 have successfully recovered.
The vision behind the celebrating the day is to create awareness amongst the people about the climate and global warming. The Earth Day also is celebrating to motivate towards working for the betterment of the environment and focus on the need for conservation. Also the immediate task is to battle industrial pollution, oil spills, toxic waste disposal and others.

The first Earth Day was celebrated was on 22nd April 1970, 20 million Americans took to the streets to protest against environmental unawareness. Climate change is one of the biggest challenges to the future of civilization and the life-support systems that make our world liveable. On the other hand, Coronavirus cases has risen to 15,474 active cases and Total deaths stood at 640. While 3,869 patients have been cured.
