#21daylockdown: PM Narendra Modi Urged People To Not Fall For Baseless Rumours And Superstitions And To Only Trust Verified Sources For Information!

Coronavirus is spreading fast across the world and as of now the virus has killed more than 3,30,000, while the number of deaths has exceeded 14,000 as reported by World Health Organisation (WHO). Risk of infection from the virus that causes COVID-19 is higher from those individuals who are close contacts of someone having COVID-19, such as Co-workers, co passengers or healthcare workers, or household members.  The patients suffering from COVID-19 will have mild to severe respiratory illness with symptoms such as fever, cough or shortness of breath.

The executive director of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Michael J Ryan is of the opinion that India as a nation as a lot of potential to curb coronavirus outbreak situation as it had done in the past experience of eradicating two pandemics such as small-pox and polio. He was quoted saying “There is a need in the number of labs where a surge is seen. India is a very populous country and the future of this virus will be considered in a very highly and densely populated country. India led the world in eradicating two pandemics, small-pox and polio so India has a tremendous capacity. There are no easy answers. It is exceptionally important that countries like India show the way to the world as they have done before.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the nation last night and declared a nationwide lockdown for the next 3 weeks. During the video conference, Modi Ji echoed the sentiment of the hour and informed “Every state, union territory, village and district will be a part of this lockdown.” The lockdown will commence at midnight on 24th March. The PM revealed need of the hour of having 21 days lockdown in order keep a control on the spread of the disease. The decision was taken post consulting with numerous health specialists and the World Health Organization (WHO).  He also accepted that 3 weeks is a long time and there will be a lot of cause a lot of inconveniences, but it is important steps to be taken to avoid anguish in the extended tenure.  He also stated that “Social distancing is the only way to break the cycle of infection.”

In the second part of the video informed the nations that they need to stay inside their homes of the next 21 days and also have strict warming if they don’t abide this they not only effecting their families but also will be destroying others families too and also will give a set back to the nation by 21 years. “Seeing the present conditions, this lockdown will be for 21 days. This is to save India, save each citizen and save your family. Do not step outside your house. For 21 days, forget what is stepping outside. There is a Lakshman Rekha on your doorstep. Even one step outside your house will bring the coronavirus inside your house.”

Modi also informed the nation that there is no need to hit the panic button in buying and crowding markets to stock up during the lockdown. The government has taken out notification informing that all essential services and all essential commodities and medicines would be available. Banks, ATMs, petrol pumps, hospitals and grocery shops will continue to work. But, all transport services such as air, rail and roadways — will remain suspended until April 14.

As per latest figures India’s Covid-19 infection count has risen to 587, on the other end deadth count has risen to 10. Health ministry informed that 40 of the patients have recovered and discharged. This as a positive development.
