The coronavirus outbreak has taken lives of over 7,000 people and infected around 1,75,000 people worldwide, other states in India have put themselves under lockdown. As per latest update, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in India has reached to 151 and counting, up from 137, with Maharashtra announcing sweeping measures to try and prevent crowding. As the state tops the infection count in India with 39 cases.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a press conference and informed that the Delhi government has decided all gyms, night clubs and spas in Delhi will remain closed till March 31 amid coronavirus outbreak.

“Religious, social, cultural and political gatherings comprising more than 50 people will not be allowed in the national capital till March 31 in view of the novel coronavirus outbreak. The CM also informed that metro-thermal screening will be proposed soon.” The CM was quoted saying “For those arriving in Delhi from abroad, Kejriwal said airport hotels like Lemon Tree and IBIS have been booked for the mandatory ’14-day quarantine’. The hotel bills will be paid by those who want better and luxury isolation during quarantine.”

As a result, across the city many gyms and fitness centres are taking precautions to prevent the spread of coronavirus COVID-19. If a citizen is suffering from cold or flu symptoms to stay put at home for the betterment of others. Vardhan has informed teams to regularly check quarantine facilities to make sure that hygiene standards are being maintained, from checking on segregation of passengers at airports, transportation to quarantine facilities and checks-ups are also being conducted. He also reviewed outpatient facilities, the availability of testing kits, personal protective equipment, medicines and isolation wards, directing hospitals to ensure adequate facility is provided to the healthcare workers.

Several basic measures to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 such as Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects. Stay home when you are sick. Contact a health worker if you have symptoms; fever and a dry cough are most common. DON’T touch your face. DON’T travel if you have a fever and cough. DON’T wear a face mask if you are well.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued fresh guidelines on use of masks by public. They took to social media and wrote, “Everyone need not wear a mask. Know, when and how to wear a mask!”
