Bruno Fernandes Has Been Named The Premier League Player Of The Month And Reveals Motivational Message From ‘Idol’ Cristiano Ronaldo

Bruno Fernandes is a Portuguese footballer who hails from Maia. He is vital player for the team who primary plays  as central midfielder but can also play second striker or as an attacking midfielder. Bruno Fernandes played most of his youth football at the local club, Boavista. But soon he joined  Serie B club, Novara where he would establish his name as one of the emerging players of the league. He helped his team finish 5th in the league and earned a promotion playoff.

His good performance got the world of football buzzing,  Serie A club Udinese singed him for €2.5 million and Bruno moved to the Black and Whites.  But he had to wait for eleven games to make his debut and he scored his first goal for his new club against Napoli.  He made his international call up to the national side for the first time in 2017 when he replaced an injured Pizzi for a couple of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying games vs Faroe Islands and Hungary. Though he did not make his debut. He made his debut in an international friendly VS Saudi Arabia when he replaced Manuel Fernandes from the bench. Bruno made his first start for Portugal against USA in international friendly match few days later.

Bruno rise to glory started establishing himself at three seasons at Udinese and went on to score 11 goals in 66 appearances. During his time at  Udinese played under three managers and tough time came under Luigi Delneri at the start of the 2016-17 campaign and Bruno fell out of favours with the new manager and as a result loaned out to fellow Serie A club Sampdoria. at when Bruno appeared in 33 times in the Serie A for Sampdoria and managed to score five goals. His performances helped Sampdoria finish an impressive 10th, higher than his parent club.  the start of the 2017-18 season  moved back home Sporting CP paid €8.5 million plus €500,000 in add-ons to secure his services.

Bruno Fernandes completed his transfer to Manchester United this year and made an encouraging start to life at United. Bruno Fernandes fits the description “Manchester United player” perfectly. When he has the ball, when he is out of possession, he looks and plays like a class act. There are not many others in this squad who deserve such a reference. The 25 year old has been name the Premier League player of the month for February following an extraordinary start to life at Manchester United. Bruno Fernandes is the third Portuguese player to be named Premier League Player of the Month after Cristiano Ronaldo and Deco.

While interacting with the media, Fernandes admits it has been an incredible start for him but insists there is plenty more to come and said “Since I was a kid it was a dream to play for Man Utd, and to be there at Old Trafford is the biggest dream of my career,” Fernandes said. “When you come to a new club you always want to score and the first goal is special. It doesn’t matter how the goal is scored, but important is the goal’s worth. I’m happy with my start but from now I need to give more, to be better.”

As per sources Manchester Unit Squad are to return to training from today. Precautions are in place at United’s training complex because of the coronavirus pandemic but the training ground remains open. The club is waiting for official announcement from UEFA Champions League’s to find out the implications of the Coronavirus outbreak on the future schedule. On the other hand, Premier League fixtures have been suspended until early April.

Bruno Fernandes has opened up on his special bond with Cristiano Ronaldo of joining Manchester United and “We look at him as an idol, he has always been an idol for me. I followed his example, he is one of my favourites. When I was called up by Portugal, he interacted with me and said “You are doing a good job at Sporting, I like it’. Words like these make the difference.”
