Prime Minister Narendra Modi is one personality who needs no introduction and his journey from being a humble Chai-Wala to being the Prime Minister of India has inspired millions of heart all across the nation. He is known for his trends and has inspired the youth through his speeches. He is a self-made individual who came from a non-political. His rags to riches life journey is an encouragement to the masses.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji was on 7-day visit to the United States Of America concluded. He spoke at the UNGA address and was quoted saying that, “wherever I went, whoever I met, be it, world leaders, industrialists or citizens from all walks of life, there is a great spirit of optimism towards India. There is also an immense appreciation of India’s efforts to improve sanitation, healthcare and empower the poor. I would like to express gratitude to the people of the USA for the exceptional welcome, warmth and hospitality. I would also like to thank @POTUS @realDonaldTrump and other respected members of the American Congress and Government.”

Prime Minister was started ‘Mann Ki Baat’ way back on 3rd October 2014. The main idea behind this was to address the nation every month on All India Radio, DD National and DD News. The aim of the program is that PM voice should reach the masses. During the program various range of important topics and at the same time share stories which motivate the listeners. This month two topics highlighted at the Mann Ki Baat’ which strike a chord with the nation was US Open runner-up Daniil Medvedev Speech and Country’s First ‘Plogger (Ripudaman Belvi).

In the recently concluded Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was all praise for US Open runner-up Daniil Medvedev and talked about his post-match speech which motivated him and all of us can learn a lot from the speech. He was quoted saying that, “Just see how on the one hand, victory in the US Open was discussed; on the other, runner up Daniil Medvedev’s speech was equally doing the rounds in public discourse, especially on social media. Hence I too heard the speech and watched the match. The sheer simplicity and maturity displayed by the 23-year-old Daniil Medvedev touched everyone. It surely stirred me.”

PM further added that “Moments before this speech, he had suffered defeat at the hands of tennis legend Rafael Nadal, 19 times grand slam winner. An event such as this would have pushed anyone towards remorse and despair; in the case of Medvedev, there was no sign of the slightest pallor on his countenance, Rather, his expression lit up the faces of those watching him with meaningful smiles. He won hearts with his humility and simplicity; the epitome of the spirit of sportsmanship in the truest sense that he is, in letter and spirit. Spectators welcomed his reflections with warmth and fervour. He also touched upon Nadal being the inspiring force in tennis for millions of young people, adding how difficult it was to face him in the game.”

Modi Ji urged the youth to watch Medvedev’s speech and was quoted saying that, “The way Medvedev heaped praise on his opponent after a defeat in a fierce duel makes him a living example of the true essence of the spirit of sportsmanship. Of course, on the other hand, champion Nadal too showered glowing praise on Daniil’s game. The display of the indomitable ardour of the defeated and the sheer humility of the victorious in the same frame was a sight to behold. If you haven’t heard Medvedev’s speech yet, I shall urge you, especially young friends to watch this video. It holds much for people across the age and class spectra to see and learn.”

Prime Minister also hailed the important contribution of India’s perhaps first ”plogger” Ripudaman Belvi who started a drive to pick up litter while jogging. Modi Ji further once again raised the cause to stop using plastic and is all set to start a campaign on Gandhi Jayanti, 2nd and was quoted saying that, “while we are celebrating ”Gandhi 150”, 130 crore countrymen have pledged to get rid of of the menace of single-use plastic. In view of the kind of lead that India has taken towards environmental protection, today the countries of the entire world are looking towards India as a model example. I am confident that you will all be a part of the campaign for liberation from the menace of single-use plastic on October 2.”

During the telephonic conversation with Mr Belvi, the Prime Minister informed that the sports ministry to is organising a ”Fit India Plogging Run” on October 2 in which participants from across India will plog for two km.
