Prime Minister Narendra Modi is one personality who needs no introduction and his journey from being a humble Chai-Wala to being the Prime Minister of India has inspired millions of heart all across the nation. Born as the third child (out of six) to Damodardas Mulchand (father) and Heeraben Modi (mother), Narendra Damodardas Modi.

On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 69th birthday in Ahmedabad. PM Modi Ji will visit the Sardar Sarovar Dam site at Kevadiya in Narmada district to attend the “Namami Narmade Mahotsava” to celebrate the dam reaching its water level milestone. Post which he will then speak a rally at 11 a.m and visit his mother Heeraben to seek her blessings.

Narendra Modi is known for his trends and has inspired the youth through his speeches. He is a self-made individual who came from a non-political. His rags to riches life journey is an encouragement to the masses. Today we will talk about, few facts which are unknown about Modi Ji:-

During his teenage year, Modi had served as a volunteer to the India Army at the railway stations during the Indo- Pak war of 1965. He also helped the flood victims in Gujarat in 1967. At a very young age decided to leave home and started travelling all across the whole nation. This decision helped him a lot as during his visit to these places came across many cultures of India and interacted with different people. In this time he also visited the Himalayas and spent almost two years as a sanyasi with the yogic sadhus

It well-documented fact that Modi Ji father owned a tea-stall at the Vadnagar Railway Station in Gujarat and Modi Ji on regular interval used help his lending his hands in selling tea at the station. Modi Ji with a lot of grace mentioned this several times in his speeches. Also emphasized him as a ‘poor man’ and talked about his humble on multiple occasion by stating that his mother used to wash utensils at houses for extra money.

He joined the pro-Hindu Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) organization in the early 1970s and set up a unit of the RSS’s students’ wing, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, in his area. Modi rose steadily in the RSS hierarchy, and his association with the organization significantly benefited his subsequent political career.

He joined the pro-Hindu Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) organization in the early 1970s and set up a unit of the RSS’s students’ wing, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, in his area. Modi rose steadily in the RSS hierarchy, and his association with the organization significantly benefited his subsequent political career. Narendra Modi Ji ardent admirer of Swami Atmasthananda and Swami Vivekananda. He was so inspired by Swami Vivekananda that he joined Ramakrishna Mission Ashram to take sanyasi lie and become a monk. He has read some books on Swami Vivekananda page-to-page.

But it was Swami Atmasthananda who advised him not to take up the life of a sanyasi and continue to work for the betterment of the public. He remembers him fondly and had this to say about the crucial role played in his life and was quoted saying that, “I had the fortune of spending time with Swami Atmasthanandaji during my childhood. I have received a lot of affection for him. He has been by my side and supported me at every crucial juncture of my life. I am eagerly looking forward to your visit to Belur Math as the Prime Minister of India. I am happy to learn that you have got a thumping majority. Sri Ramakrishna has allowed you to serve the people of India irrespective of caste, creed and religion.”

PM Modi Ji is one of the most tech-savvy personality and is quite active on social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Linkedin, Sound Cloud, Weibo and other such platforms. Recently PM achieved another milestone by becoming the highest-followed Indian figure on Twitter. His handle @narendramodi has over 50 million followers on the social media platform. His Facebook handles with nearly 44 million followers and on Instagram with around 25 million followers. Prime Minister Modi has 3.4 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.

Cleanliness and environment are few of the major causes which are very close to the heart of Narendra Modi and started a mission “Swacch Bharat Mission” to spread the awareness of cleanliness among the citizens and was quoted in one of his rallies– “Build toilets before temples”.

PM Modi during the last month of his monthly radio address to the nation, ‘Mann Ki Baat’ highlighted that the time time to come to say ‘good-bye’ to single-use plastic and added “My government has announced that India will put an end to the single-use plastic in the coming years. I believe the time has come for even the world to say good-bye to single-use plastic.”
