
Pankaj Advani is one of the most prolific snooker players in our Country. He also boasts of rare feet of winning professional world titles in both the long and short formats of snooker and both formats of English billiards. The ace player was born in Pune and spend his growing up years in Kuwait before moving to Bangalore.
Pankaj talent was spotted by Arvind Savur and the game was introduced by his elder brother Dr Shree Advani who has been a renowned sport and performance psychologist. Pankaj first state title win came against none other than his brother who is also his guide.
India’s billiards ace Pankaj Advani created history by recording a fourth straight win in the IBSF World Billiards Championships and took his overall world title tally to 22. One of India’s most consistent sportsperson, Pankaj Advani has brought home a world trophy every year ever since returning from a professional stint in the UK in 2014. With this victory, Pankaj has led to the fifth title in the last six years in the short format of billiards.

Post achieving this rare feat, the champion was quoted saying that, “It’s such a touch-and-go format and so unpredictable that winning this four years on the trot and five out of the last six is extremely special.”
Pankaj was once again playing against local favourite Nay Thway Oo and the result was the same as last year when they met each other. The gifted sportsperson from the start of the match went for the kill and was leading 3-0 at the halfway mark with the help of fluent breaks comprising of 145, 89 and 127, while Nay Thway Oo was yet to open his account.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji was one of the first to congratulate Pankaj Advani post registering his 22nd world title by winning a fourth straight final in the 150-up format at the IBSF World Billiards Championship which was held in Myanmar. PM Modi Ji wrote, “Congratulations Pankaj Advani! The entire nation is proud of your accomplishments. Your tenacity is admirable. Best wishes for your future endeavours.”
In reply, Advani tweeted, “Thank you so much for your wishes Hon PM Sir It means a lot.”
